PURPOSE
This position will monitor the students in playground/lunchroom during the lunch hour. This position is part-time, 20 hours, Monday - Friday, 10:00AM - 2:00PM.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supervises students in cafeteria during lunch period.
- Helps primary students open milk cartons, thermos containers, etc.
- Communicates with office staff regarding any problems in cafeteria supervision.
- Encourages students to eat their lunch for proper nutrition.
- Supervises safety and welfare of students on the playground (or inside on rainy/snowy days) during lunch and at noon recess.
- Communicates with office staff regarding any problems on the playground.
- Communicates with office personnel regarding unsafe items on the playground.
- Position requires a commitment of 1.5 to 3.5 hours per day (during the late morning through early afternoon), five days a week during the school year, and reliable and punctual.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the school principal.
- Understand and adhere to Board policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: High School Diploma

Conditions and Environment: The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active.
