PURPOSE
This position is responsible for satisfactory completion of job assignments in his/her skill area, as directed by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Must be able to operate, diagnose, repair, replace and perform preventative maintenance on equipment included, but not limited to: boilers, pumps, cooling towers, hot water and steam systems, rooftop DX, Energy Recovery Units and Ventilators, VRV systems, mini split systems, DDC controls, and ground source systems
- Old and new construction modifications involving plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems
- Interact with teachers, staff and students courteously
- Responsible for weekly and monthly reports when using the district purchasing card
- Must be available emergencies and extreme weather condition
- Ability to work safely around high voltage electrical
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Reports To: Campus Operations Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Experience as HVAC technician with electrical experience and light plumbing technician.;Three (3) or more years of experience as HVAC; Must be familiar with local building codes; Knowledgeable of hazards and safety precautions related to and used in trade; Knowledgeable in the use of tools and equipment use in the trade; Must have proof of a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license; Must comprehend and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, charts and technical instructions; Must have a high degree of mechanical/plumbing ability; EPA refrigeration certification.

Physical Demands: Is regularly required to stand, move about, hear and speak; Must have close, moderate, and distance vision ability; Must continuously use hand and finger strength to grasp tools and climb ladders; Must be able to communicate in noisy environments such as construction sites and over machine noise; Must be able to frequently stoop, squat, reach, climb, bend, kneel, and push/pull objects such as tables, scaffolds, or air compressors; Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular and recurring basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis. These are essential functions of the job.
Attendance: Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position; The person holding this position must be available for emergency clean up or maintenance of building or area(s) outside of regular work hours. This position will be “on call” during emergencies and extreme weather. These are essential functions of the job.
Conditions and Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works indoors and outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The employee will occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will frequently work alone and will occasionally work irregular or extended hours. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate but can occasionally be loud. These are essential functions of the job.
